Norda locally sources potatoes for its Urban Bites crisps directly from farmers in Bomet, Kenya. In an effort to create a 360 degree value chain, Norda helps the
farmers to gain access to credit for inputs (seeds, fertilisers etc.) and then purchases the harvested potatoes at higher than fair trade prices. This ensures consistent quality and provides sustainable livelihood for hundreds of Kenyans.
Norda was founded by Mr Tajdin Jaffer at the age of 75 and he is also the chairman of Sulfo Rwanda Industries which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year.
The amount of TAMU TAMU produced to date is equivalent to the weight of 37 African elephants.
